Stanford University Medical Professor Jayanta Bhattacharya has spoken with Sky News about the varying figures which have emerged regarding COVID-19’s death rate across the world saying it may be comparable to that of the flu.

“The big problem is we don’t actually know how many people have the virus, or have had the virus (and) been cured,” Professor Bhattacharya told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.

“The guess I’m going to give you … I think is on the order of .05 per cent to 1.1 per cent,” he said.

“Which is roughly inline with the flu”.

Sky News host Andrew Bolt said those figures are “extraordinary” as reports around the world have placed the rate higher.
